Hood scoops, resin, puttying and finishing

Recommended Posts

Okay here comes a question that will be at this point well beyond my capabilities as a novice. But I gotta ask it anyway. If I wanted to let's say buy the Monogram (or is it Revell?) 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. And I wanted to add the huge 440 6 pack Hood Scoop. How difficult is it to add one on? I assume there's no resin hood out there so I think I'd have to buy one and attach it to the hood. Putty and sand it to match. If anyone out there can help I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks

Jerry

First, I don't think that scoop was offered on '70s, only '69s. Be that as it may...

This is a particularly difficult scoop to add to a hood due to the undercut at the front--hard to sand. I bought a Monogram '69 Superbee just to add this scoop to a JoHan '69 Road Runner hood, but I see that such hoods are now available from aftermarket. I'm just gonna buy one and get on with my life.
