made real battery clamps around the terminals , bend them from 1mm thick copperplate , added a real bare wire as the negative ( stripped the mantle of a thin earphone wire) and for the poitie cable i ued thin steel wire painted black .. all needs some powder to blend in more

mea close up and a tad sharpened , also showing the fan schroud and valve cover decals

i always love hots like these :) >>

i redid the positive wire and clamp on the battery the clamp looked horrible .. managed to make a nice bend clamp for the poitibve terminal as well , also in the valve covers i put tiny hollow bras tubes where breather filters could mount to .. maybe try to make one ? or a hose ?

added a line to the inlet manifold non attached since it all gone there :)

Very awesome, Richard!!!  You've pulled this project off in a very convincing fashion!!!  I love the way your firewall turned out and it's a gorgeous car in a rusty, dirty way!!!????????

thnx thnx !!!!

well i kind of started looking at 427 turbo jet engines .. like the kit says .. and soom realized the kit did not provide the hose from the top to the waterpump ..

its a small bend below the top hose to the waterpump .. so i drilled holes and added the bend , actually had to put bras wire in the rubber hose to make the tight bend ...

then i wanted to add the heater hoses ... going from reference pics i made those .. and then changed the radiator hose .. i already knew it was just a tad to small .. but now with the heater hoses it looked stupid .. it was a challenge to find wire that was not t thick and not to thin .. found ome in my old cable collection :) lol ... it was the best option .. i stripped the wire out that was inside and changed the hose ... i think this looks nicer ..

So i bought this kit from a well known dutch seller who mostly by and sells american car kits ...he suddenly advertised with a bunch of > al ready started on < kits ...

price was so cheap i ordered two of the started on kits ... this one i the revell nova cop kit .. it arrived and when i opened it found a complete kit , the body was painted badly with dust in the paint and runners ... but painted thin .

i started by wet sanding the body to flatten it and see what was on it no primer under the paint , body not sanded lol :)

all the parts where painted in the sprues , so that will take a tad more , no worry's

most important part all the chrome and clear parts where sealed in the bags , never opened also included the ss grille and backside and the stock version

first dryfitted the front and back , fits well

did some research , looked at nova pictures trying to decide on a style ...and desided to cean the body , removed the louvres , side marker , key holes and molded nova on the trunk , whilw doing that with a fine file whole patches of paint came of , so i'm sure i hve this body bare in no time :)

style wise i'm not sure , pro street , pro touring , racy track , could keep it more classis but lower with wide classis wheels ...

one picture made me smile .. kind of love this .. not said thats what i'm going to do

this also look killer

This build is just AWESOME!!!!!!!!   The detail work is superb and your weathering is amazing my friend.

Randy

thnx randy !!!! :)

Amazing. I jush you would have posted some step by steps on some of those weathering techniques.

thnx !! maybe this sounds weird but i seldom have a fixed way .. on this nova i used a lot of vallejo pigment rust oxide the very very yellow-ish / light powder to get not a rusted look but a stood there for years all dusted look ...

the body actually was super simple and didnt include hairspray or salt , just painted it a sand color with a army paint rattle can , some burnt sierra over that and when dry and hard sprayed it blue and when it wa 80% dry wet sanded it under the kitchen sink tab getting this result ..

On the intake dilemma you could take an old license plate, put it on a piece of sheet plastic bend it a bit, weather it, put four holes in it and place it on top of the intake to look as if someone wanted to cover it and keep stuff out of the engine... Just a thought,,

Build looks awesome though!!!!!!!!!
