Autocar Dump

Recommended Posts

Built in 1978, this is very close to the first truck I had a ride in at the age of about 10.  Back in those days I was still learning (still am!) so my builds were mostly strictly stock out of the box.  She's held up well over the years and found her way out of the case for a cleaning before pics.

IIRC, this was an AMT kit.

Good looking old Acar I also have a special place in my heart for Autocars who would think the truck I watched every day go through my town I would some day own it and restore it. Maybe soon AMT will re- lease this beautiful kit you did a great job on it and keep it as long as you can

Very nice, Warren ! (I did mine almost in the same livery - box stock - in about 1984) , would also be a candidate for reissuing !

Great looking old iron, Lee - you really have something to be proud of - I'm sure that your truck gets a lot of admiration and attention at shows.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!  AMT did do a Autocar A64B, I found my old build.  Nowhere as good as the dump though and the old kits, if you find one, are insanely expensive.  I'd love to see re-issues of much of this, including the old MPC and IMC lines.
