Inspiration for the Revell 30 Ford Coupe

Pretty cool time capsule.

This is from the Craigslist ad:

1930 Model A Ford gasser. This is not a recreation or modern interpretation. This car was pulled from its resting place in Jan 2016. It has sat (inside a barn) since 1968. This is the real deal. Last raced in 1968 at Bluegrass Dragway in Lexington KY. This is a central KY car. Again, its real. Car has title. I stress this was a real race car. This car ran in B or C supercharged. All memories of this car were lost to a house fire in the 80's in Winchester KY. This story can be and has been confirmed. If you are familiar with gassers on this side of the country this car was built along side the Rebel Rouser, also out of Winchester. Google search Rebel Rouser 427 Ford gasser. This car has only been in public only twice since 1968. Once at US60 Dragway for the straight axle race and Madison IN. memorial day car show. The car will stop people in their tracks.

Engine is 327 Chevrolet. 671 supercharged and Hilborn injected. Block is a 62. Heads are 461 dated 1965. Edelbrock intake. Vertex Mag. Hilborn pump. Moon timing cover. Isky rev kit. Iskendarian Gilmore blower drive. Fuelie valve covers. Engine turns.
Transmission is 4sp Hydromatic. May be B&M Hydrostick
Rearend is 57 Chev with P case. Gear is 4:57
Rear tires are original M&H from 1962 on custom widened steel wheels. Front wheels are Magnesium spindle mount Americans
Front fenders are glass. Rest of body is original metal.
Steering gear is reversed Corvair.
Interior is sparse. Has hoop roll bar with one leg to passenger side frame. Fiberglass seat "chair". Gauges are gone.
Trunk is lined with heating metal. Battery mount is in trunk.
Frame mounted hydraulic brake master cylinder.

Let us know what you dig up Jesse. I have often thought about a project involving 2 builds: a car in it's heyday and then the same car after the barn find. I think that would make a cool show display with them side by side.
