cobraman
I used a couple kits to build this one. I used the AMT 69 Corvair mainly for the body. The Polar Lights Tommy Grove kit was used for the Chassis. The roof of the Corvair was removed and interior space was filled with a couple pieces of sheet plastic and puttied smooth. Well, kinda sorta smooth. Looked better in primer and I thought it was ready for paint. It was not. I used an aftermarket distributor and wires. I had to open up the wheel wells some and shortened the F/C chassis. Parts box decals. Painted Ocean Blue. Not perfect but looks pretty good if you step back and squint. : ) All comments are welcome as always.

Bernard Kron
Nicely done, Ray. The color is especially cool and it's super clean, too. Bravo!Watch out, though. You may find your model moved to Drag Racing where it will languish in relative obscurity...
Speedfreak
Looks 'really' good Ray! I like it, my fav from you so far. The detail on the chassis is really good. The paint doesn't look that bad 'cause it's a great color, and , the overall car is so cool! Great concept. Edited September 26, 2016 by Speedfreak

Have you had that happen ?

Have you had that happen ?Yes I have, more than once. Although I think it happens less with drag cars for some reason that hot-rod or rat rod style pickups. That just happened to me again with a chopped and channeled hot rod pickup I just started. It's now in vans , suv's, commercial vehicles, etc. Silly... bobthehobbyguy
Love it came out great. As far as the area filled in from removing the roof if you look at the actual cars that area was filled in without worrying about makingnit look pretty.
