leafsprings
Great photos Casey! That '73 Chevy with the woodgrain trim brings back memories.
ROY FERGUSON
A Dallas and Mavis B series Mack with lowboy and Cat tractor load. I used this photo for First Gear to produce a 1/25 scale diecast model. Edited November 18, 2019 by ROY FERGUSON

espo
That's been there for a while. I wonder about it's original use. I notice the "Recycling Station" painted on the side. In that era reclaimed oil was a common product. Possibly the bed is a large tank or tanks that would hold oil pumped out of a service stations sump. NOBLNG
Thanks for that link Jon. And thanks to all for the pics of the commercial trucks. Most of the larger company owned trucks were scrapped or never saw the same level of preservation that personally owned vehicles did. They were simply tools to do a job, with no sentimental attachment to them...discarded when no longer useful.☹️ Edited December 18, 2020 by NOBLNG
Casey
I think this is a White truck (hard to make out the script lettering on the hood side)? Quite the custom made grille guard, too: Edited February 11, 2021 by Casey
misterNNL
I loves these black and white photos. Wonder how they took that "moving day" photo as the whole area is very flat. That same photo shows how the roof of that trailer was pieced together for anyone thinking of building a model of one.
espo
I enjoy these pictures of a by gone era and sometimes wonder what all is going on in the back ground. A case in point: The Royal Farms Dairy truck posed in front of the Globe Burlesk theater. The picture of the moving vans. Was this an ad for a new housing development ? I notice the Boat being towed by a Convertible gives the vision of wealth for someone. The Lucky Lager truck is in front of what looks like the construction of the LA Subway construction.
