Randy D
Hi Folks, Thought I would post a thread showing some of my model train projects and layouts. I have been a model railroader since the age of 10. My passion for modeling with metal probably started in my teens, assembling brass locomotive kits back in the late sixties early 70's. The following pics show a small piece of a On30 layout in my modeling room. The scale is 1/48th with the scene being 12 inches deep. The layout snakes around my basement hugging the walls. The equipment is from Bachman, the bridge is scratch built, the water tower, shack and Donkey engine are kits. I make my own trees...... Thanks for looking in! Jim B
That's astounding! I've always told people that if you want to learn how to make realistic scenery, talk to a railroad modeler. This proves my point!
Pete J.
Randy, great work! The real problem with railroad stuff is that it is very hard to share with others. It just isn't portable like a model car or aircraft. Love the pictures. Edited November 22, 2016 by Pete J.

Bernard Kron
Superb. You're from Colorado and you've captured it in your basement. Besides the impressive fabrication and realism, I especially enjoy your choice of backgrounds photos and how well they're integrated into the 3-dimensional stuff. Terrific!
