JollySipper
Just getting started on this. This is my first large scale figure..... I must have picked the poorest fitting kit for my first one! I love the subject, tho, one of my favorite stories.......... This is the tree, assembled, then primed, puttied, primed again...... then I did a lot of washing and a little dry brushing........... Jim B
I am intrigued.
JollySipper
Thanks for showing an interest, James! Agent G did a build of this kit a while back that I've been using as reference/inspiration....... He did a fantastic job........
JollySipper
So the horse is together! That was a job within itself..... Now to putty everything but the saddle. The "hair" on this is too coarse, and needs too be smoothed out. Just rubbing the one-part Bondo on with my finger.......
JollySipper
The rear haunches have been puttied and in primer........
Jim B
That's one hairy horse. Maybe it's its winter coat. Nice job with the Bondo.
JollySipper
Thanks, Jim! Started on filling seams on the rider...... I used white glue to fill the joints at his shoulders, so I wouldn't fill in the details on his jacket....... Also still working on smoothing the horse...... The tube is the glue I'm using to join parts with. It's Beacon's 527 Multi-use glue...... It's a good bond, haven't had anything come loose even with all the sanding.... JerseyRed
This is really shaping up into something cool. I didn't understand what it was at first, when it was just the tree, but I can be a little thick. I like the details in the riders jacket. Can't wait to see what it looks like in paint."I know you rider gonna miss me when I'm gone" ?? JollySipper
I had boxed this away for a while and worked on model cars some. I thought with Fall upon us, it's the perfect time to try and finish him up! I've got a mockup of what I've done so far..... Still needs reigns, stirrups, cape and other bits, but I have made some progress.......
