mini trucker
Can anyone suggest a good glue to glue the sidewall insert in with on a set of old AMT drag slicks? I don't have any spares of this tire to experiment with so I'm hoping to get it right the first time. Thanks!
Ace-Garageguy
I just checked some AMT 2-piece slicks with a sidewall insert, and it's as I remember...if the insert fits well in the tire, assuming you've removed the little piece of molding runner and any flash, you don't NEED any glue to hold it in...especially if you put the insert side towards the car where it isn't seen. And if your wheels fit correctly, they will also hold the sidewall insert in if it's loose (which it rarely is) when you glue the wheel parts together. Right. And if you do need glue for some bizarre reason, superglue should work fine.
mini trucker
Thanks for the help gentleman. I hadn't test fit the sidewalls when I asked, just assumed they would be loose fitting. Good to know otherwise
