Actually according to Wikipedia, they are considered the same generation, they just have slightly different styling and different engines.

You're right, I was thinking too far ahead.  The next variant is going to be the JA12 which was it's own chassis designation from 1995-1998. The JA11 is sort of an oddball little truck considering it only existed for 9 months until the JA12 came into being.

I picked up a few of these (3) to see how the compare to the Fujimi Jimny..

They are a hair smaller and the Plastic is thinner than the Fujimi and almost feels 1/25.

Fujimi on the right. The chassis are nicely detailed and I like the separate springs and axles.

Easy to do a SPOA lift..

I have built a Few Fujimis and looking forward to building the Aoshime version..

Back in the late 80's and early 90's i had 3 of them, they were nearly indestructible, and i did try.Had a 83 pickup,a 84 hardtop and a long wheelbase convertible with a factory hardtop on it,we called it the popemobile,i loved them they would go anywhere in 4x4..motors were good on fuel, did put the rod out through the side of my pickup one night, man that made a big kaboom.Might have to pickup one of these.
