CharlieBravo & I have a mountain of pics between us including all pics from Paul's site, I'm sure one of the 2 of us can provide replacements.

Hey, that would be great...the only folder I seem to have lost is the BJ folder, if had I lost everything I have saved over the years it wouldn't have been fun at all.
I managed to copy everything else to another of my hard drives for safety.

If one want's to keep up with what the new owner of the Movin' On truck is doing to it he goes by the name "Sundance" on the American Truck Historical Society forum, "Sundance" was the CB call sign for the Movin' On truck in the TV show.

I find it strange that this didn't get the AMT re-issue. everything else seemed to. It is the same with a dvd release. Universal says there is no market for it to warrant a release, yet Movin' On got a dvd release. There has never been any TV or cable reruns including most of the world for many years...

Something strange seems to be going on with BJ and the Bear. Maybe it's just me but it seems to still be quite popular and has a definite niche/cult status. It had the Hot Wheels release but hardly accurate and comes up in a lot of different forums in many different genres, trucker forums, Kenworth forums, modelling forums, dvd forums, 80's TV show forums for e.g but nothing from the studios at all..

thoughts?

I'm willing to bet it comes down to licensing for all of the music that was used in the show.

It took them FOREVER to get enough of the song rights to be able to release WKRP in Cincinnati on DVD, so I'll bet they're thinking they'll never be able to recoup their investment on doing that for this show. Especially nowadays when most people just stream TV shows and don't even own DVDs anymore.

I've also noticed that younger generations don't even watch old TV shows like this. Hardly anything over 10-15 years is even available to purchase.

Sad but true for us old fogies.

I have to agree with ya Patrick, Ask a lot of younger generations about the show or show them the truck and they're like "What's that?" many have never heard o the show..

It's understandable that younger generations doesn't know much of old TV shows like this as they haven't seen or heard anything about them under their lifetime.
The three seasons of BJ and the Bear show was originally aired 1979-81 and the pilot show 1978, and most likely no re-runs has been aired in the last 30 years or so, so anyone under 45 wouldn't remember much of the show.
It's mostly "old geeks" like us who watched these shows when they first aired on TV who like to have nostagic trips and see them again many years later....I know I got one recently after I bought the DVD's and watched the two seasons of Movin' On.

You may not like to hear this but both seasons are on YouTube for free & they're excellent quality.

I know, they were available when I bought the DVD's too.
But I prefer to have a hard copy as they will most likely not be on line forever and can be gone the next time I want to watch them, save them to a hard drive, well they crash sometimes...I have the DVD's and they will last as long as I have something to play them on.

I may watch some of them there! I see the dvd set is available but price of 56 bucks is a tough one for me! Funds aren’t there for something like that!!

I have the Revell Aerodyne and the Trailer, have reefer fuel tank and a reefer to modify for it and side panels to relocate the curbside door. Have a lot of work ahead of me! Hopefully I can do it justice!!?? Lol
