55 Crown Victoria Wire Wheel Covers

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for proper wire wheel covers for a 1955 Crown Victoria.  I've heard that Modelhaus used to cast them.  I'm building a 55 Crown Victoria from the AMT 56 with a resin body.  See the my On The Workbench Thread.

I'm not sure how close the wires in the Lindberg '53 Ford convertible are, but I will look this morning when I get back from my bus route.  I think the centers are a bit different.  At any rate I have an extra set.

Hi TarheelRick,

I've taken a look at the '53 Lindberg wheels and the are close, but don't look as nicely molded as those on the AMT '62 Thunderbird, which I'm considering.  Since neither are the exact wheel, I'd go with the Thunderbird if it were between just these two.

What I'm hoping for is that someone has a a set of the modelhaus wheels, or knows of a better option than either of the above.

-Steve

Also - I need FIVE (5) wheels, since the car I'm building has the continental kit on the back.
