truckabilly
I wonder what it is there on the cab floor. Instead of a regular gear stick there is a tall box with a short lever on top of it. Is it a shifting system or somethin special designed for fire trucks? Thanx for any info. Edited October 23, 2017 by truckabilly
Tesla
Jarda, I'm quite sure that is the shift tower for an automatic transmission.
GLMFAA1
If it's not the transmission shifter then maybe it is the pto lever greg

truckabilly
Thank you all for explanation. Does that mean that there should be no clutch pedal on the floor?I tried to google out the Allison automatic and I got some pictures. But I´m not sure if these are OK for the 359 Pete era. Or did the design remain the same, more or less?
lapazleo
Yep no clutch pedal. And yes they were available in the 359. Allisons have been around since the late 60's or longer.
Force
Both the Allison transmission and shift tower are in the Tyrone Malone Super Boss and Papa Truck kits.
Chariots of Fire
I agree with what others have said. The PTO for the pump would probably be a push button on the dash that is activated after the truck transmission is put in neutral. Then when the PTO is activated the tranny is put back into drive to power the pump.. At least that is the way it was done on the Pierce pumpers that I am familiar with. truckabilly
Thanks a lot. I already scratch bulit the Allison automatic for my Peterbilt fire truck. I took the dimensions from the AMT Super Boss kit and added some details according to the pics I found on the internet.
