Kustom Khrome Changing Hands

Recommended Posts

You may have heard that Kustom Khrome is changing hands.  After much thought, Rick Shepard and I have decided to hand over the reigns of the chroming business to George Hernandez, under the name of

"GT KustomKrome.  This will allow me to concentrate my efforts on Bob’s Paint, etc., which was my original business and has always been my passion.  It’s been our pleasure to assist you with your chroming needs.

You may wonder how this will affect our valued Kustom Khrome customers, and I assure you there will be very little change.  As of today, please address your chroming requests to George Hernandez at

GT KustomKrome, as follows:

Email:         tihggh01@hotmail.com

Address:     6027 Kim Avenue, Allen Park, MI  48101

George is looking forward to working with you.

i'll keep an eye on george for all of ya's

So, given this news, is there a chance you'll be offering plated parts in your resin kits sometime in the future Jeff?

Might be a good move, maybe even just as an available option. I know I'd pay a bit extra for pre-plated bumpers, grilles, etc.

I owe George a debt of gratitude in return. George was the one who reached out to me when I first got back into the hobby to join the Downriver Model Car Club. George showed me around and introduced me to all the members. He made me feel very welcome. We became good friends and George was even casting for me up until we relocated to Wisconsin. George has a great work ethic along with great enthusiasm. I have every confidence in George to do his very best with Kustom Khrome. In fact some of his handy work showed up our club meeting yesterday. The wheels and bumpers were flawless!

Thanks Tom, and EVERBODY else who said some very nice things about me. I've been a member here since 07 or so, and I was a pretty constant poster. Then I started casting for Paul Plum, of Scale Models by Chris, When he got sick.Once Paul came back to work after a few months, Kevin Lutz of Missing Link took me on.

I started casting for him then and still do. Danny Iaconnelli was the next friend who asked me for some help, and so I started casting for Danny too.  Danny bought me my first casting pot so I could have My own pots to cast for him.

Once he moved I acquired 2 more pots and started casting my butt off. Since then I've been pretty busy with that. Then Big Bob, (Bob IS a pretty big guy!) Asked me if I'd like to take over his chromeing business. We worked out a deal over a burger an Pepsi, and now I am the proprietor of GT KustomKrome. ALL things happen for a reason.

Now, I ask all of you guys to give me a chance to do as good a job as Bob did! NOTHING has or will change as far as I'm concerned. Prices will stay the same (unless the plater raises his prices, which I do NOT see happening ANYTIME soon.)

Anyways, my E-mail addy is, tihggh01@hotmail.com I don't have a website as of yet, but I'm working on it. If you need a pricelist or just questions in general, please write my E-Mail addy for best, fastest results. Again, I DO look forward to serveing you guys to the best of my abilities! Thanks! George Hernandez, Aka, George53
