Phildaupho
The Auto Modelrama took place Saturday March 25 after a year hiatus. The quality of many of the models and paint jobs were outstanding. I tired to get photos of most of the models but keep getting distracted and missed a bunch of worthy models. The theme classes were Camaro 50th Anniversary and Car Song Cars. The Red Barchetta [Rush] was the winner but the Hot Rod Lincoln, Hey Little Cobra and Surf City '34 Woodie were also pretty cool. Misha
A group of us from Victoria and area ventured off of Vancouver Island. Our club SPAM (which Phil above is a charter member) made a day of it beginning in the early morning in order to catch the first ferry across the Strait to Vancouver and Burnaby. Once on the mainland we had a mandatory stop at a LHS that even opened earlier for us. The plan was to have another LHS stop on the way back to the ferry after the Vancouver Auto Modelrama. The event, as can be experienced thru Phil's photos (see above) very well. The build quality was very high throughout and the themes for Camaro's 50th and Car Tunes were a treat. Vendor area was well attended and the door prizes were bountiful. Perhaps the best part is getting together to talk cars and models, especially if you attend for the entire day. The awards were numerous as there were many categories with first thru to third being handed out. All categories were well attended for the most part which allowed for many choices. On the way to the ferry after our second hobby shop stop we arrived in plenty of time for the seven PM sailing, only to discover it was to be delayed for an hour. And a bit. A long adventure, well worth it. Good travelling companions and conversations, and plenty to see. Thanks to the Vancouver Automotive Model Builders for hosting a great event.Cheers Misha Edited March 28, 2017 by Misha spelling

The last AMB show in March 2020 was cancelled due the pandemic. The core group of modellers have stayed connected with regular on-line meetings.
