adamelvis
Hi Everyone, So, after a break of over 18 years, I finally got back into modeling. The first car I did was my wife's choice of a blue 69 Camaro Z-28 RS. The build took two months (approx. 75 hours) and when completed, I entered it into a local model contest The Auto Modelrama 2017, sponsored by The Automotive Model Builders club. There were many categories and 2 theme categories; Cars from Songs and 50 Years of Camaro. I had entered it into the "Camaro" category and won first place. It was a great honor and I was overwhelmed with joy & surprise. There were alot of great builds and now I am looking forward to completing the next car model. !! Hi Frank, I picked up this pkg of twill patches at the local Walmart for Five bucks ! You can make 20-30 roof liners and have a choice of 4 colors !! Misha
Having also seen Adam's Camaro up close at the Modelrama it certainly is a very deserved win. You've handled all the various aspects so well, assembly, paint, stance, detailing, (esp the liner idea). Plus reading how this build is a return back to modeling makes me want to se your next few builds! It's great to see your Camaro on the forum, welcome.Cheers Misha Edited April 3, 2017 by Misha spelling

adamelvis
I seriously don't know what to say-I'm seriously speechless-That is more than perfect-WOW-you definitely deserved that award' What part of Wal-Mart did you find the patches in ?Thank you for the comment Marty. At Wal-Mart, here in Canada, I was crusin down the "crafts aisle" where you can find hobby craft stuff and sewing things and there it was. I always painted the interior of my cars, so this time I thought, why not cover it with fabric? I had seen this done once on a Eleanor Mustang build thread, where he used fabric for the roof liner and scratch-built the sun visors as well. I plan to use these twill patches to cover roof liners, underside of trunk lids that I have opened up and even the trunk space too! Also looking into doing fabric on interior seats.
