Almost Black, Blue Paint-anyone know where?

Recommended Posts

Hey folks. I'm planning a future build and I want to paint it a very dark blue - nearly black.

I've seen a Midnite Blue Pearl sold by HOK that's not quite it but is the closest I've seen.  http://www.tcpglobal.com/HOKPBC104.jpg

Anyone found anything like what I've described?

Oh yeah, I'm an airbrush newbie so mixing paints isn't something I'm thinking of doing.

Thanks.

I'm working on a 65 Comet that has the same color that your looking for. I purchased a can of Dupli-Color True Blue paint. It's a Ford color that almost black with a slight blue tint. The number for the paint is BFM0358 True Blue (L2) Replaces T298..........right off the cap......

If you're still looking, you may want to check out Tamiya's TS-55 Dark Blue. To me it looks like the blue on the Chicago Bears' helmets.  Here's an article where it was used on a Ferrari kit.

Came here to post exactly this. The TS-55 looks black under moderate light, but the blue flake jumps out under bright light.  Really pretty paint.

Btw John, I'll be working on my Comet next year. Too many irons in the fire. Right now I'm going red.
