KENNEDYJR
I finally completed a build after taking a few years off. This one was salvaged from my box of glue bombs from my teenage years. Plenty of kits to rescue in the future! I used the salt method on the paint with layers of flat black ,flat white, and red primer. I used the kit engine with parts box headers, intake, etc. I scratch built the Optima battery, exhaust, and traction bars. I am stuck on ratty cars.I blame it on the guys at Roadkill lol. I just love the look of mismatched parts and worn paint.

Smitty
Wow, it looks like someone gave up drag racing, parked it in a barn and just never came back for it!Great job. Very convincing weathering job.

KENNEDYJR
where did the headers come from..trying to find some that fit?? oldr-n-drt I used a set from the AMT Chevelle prostreet kit (from a Chevy gasp!) I cut off the mufflers and reworked the mounting a bit.
DumpyDan
Well done my man, this looks real good. Love the detailing on the front of the roof over the front windshield.
cobramike
What caught my eye is the detail, and by that I mean the battery, but even more so the windshield reservoir being half full. Great job!
Simon
Excellent. Your mastery of the salt technique speaks for itself, incredibly convincing. Oddly enough, I also have a brush-painted teenage build of this kit in my parts box, not confident it'll ever resurface looking anything like as good as yours though! Strip the paint and give the salt technique a try. It is great for hiding bodywork issues that may be visible with a better paint job. Thanks for all the kind words everybody!
