My Mom eventually gave up even asking me to try to wash it off before dinner. Yup that was me too! I almost always had a primered thumb nail. TarheelRick Posted September 21, 2017 Share Posted September 21, 2017 I have gotten very used to wearing gloves while at the bench, not just for paint sessions. It keeps body oils from getting on the kit surfaces while I am working with them. Occasionally I will super glue a glove finger to a piece, but it is much easier to remove that than a glue fingerprint. I usually get the Harbor Freight 7 mil Nitrile gloves with their 20% coupon, which brings them down to less than $10 for 50 gloves. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
peter31a Posted September 21, 2017 Share Posted September 21, 2017 And if you are buying gloves (latex or nitrile) that will be handling a model be sure to go with the non-powdered type otherwise there will be a trail of powder and you'll be cursing. High octane Posted November 1, 2017 Share Posted November 1, 2017 I have a paint stand for the body, and for smaller parts I tape them onto an old 1 foot ruler or some paint mixing sticks from my local Home Depot that are used when mixing a gallon of paint.
