VW Beetle Roadster Rat Rod

I don't remember all that went into this, so let's just call it a hodge-podge of cast off parts on a scratchbuilt frame, a front-mounted VW engine, a cut down Ferguson grille, and some Cranky decals. It's similar to one I built 8 or 9 years back- I'd originally planned to stick the supercharged engine into that, but decided to build a new model around the new engine instead.

Glad you mentioned that it started life as a VW. Great mixture of body parts. Front axle turned around, front mounted engine with a drive shaft to the differential ? Extensive plumbing from the super charger to the heads. I'd love to see what you would do if you would only let your imagination run wild.

The first generation of the VW Gol (not Golf) had the air cooled engine on the front, but it was a FWD car. I think this model is really interesting, and could actually be done in 1:1 form. The transmission would be a problem. How to make the torque actually go to the back?

Turning the engine around and using a VW Buss transmission to drive the front wheels would work, but a different suspension would be in order, with some CV joints, and maybe longitudinal torsion bars from a 4X4 S-10, or something like that. Making a shift linkage would require some very creative engineering.
