Weird Kits (img fixed)

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of helping my step-brother downsize his stuff . His interest in models funs from scifi, horror figure and a few cars. Looking thru them I ran across these two. Not something you normally find. Was there any interest in these or were they "one no-hit wonders"?

Hard Hat was made in the 70's and reissued one time.....the one you have. It is a kit of a real showrod.....one built just for the show circuit.

Pretty sure that the hard hat hauler is currently being restored to its original show car glory. I saw pics of it being taken apart and of the helmet being repolished.

The VW looks interesting, the Hard Hat not so much.

Apparently the Hauler Kit was a MPC and then Barris and others built the 1:1 car after it. There is more info here if your interested

Most times they do not change copyright dates.....Beer Wagon still says 1968 IIRC but issued many many times.
