1967 Mercury Puma GT

Thanks, Mr. Green! I'm plodding along with it. LOL

I share your opinion about the '71-'73 Mustang, especially the fastback(Sportsroof).

In the Cougars, my favorite is the '67-'68 body style.

I used the engine block, trans, and heads for this build:

The induction setup came from the Cougar kit. The distributor is from Kris Morgan at MAD.

Test fit in the engine bay:

Haven't done much in the last few days. Trying to clear the bench of two other projects that are closer to the finish line. Hopefully, I can get back to the Puma later next week. I appreciate your interest in this project.

I probably should catch up with the work on this one. These are the seats and console from the '68 Mustang kit. I added a small bit to the console so it would match up with the dash:

Then, I decided to whack the seats away from the console:

Console is coming along:

A little tweaking, here and there, and it should be okay.

WoW !   I have been wanting to do this to the 1:1 for years. I owned a couple nice drivers over the years and the last one I had I wanted to do this. A friend of mine at the time was getting pretty good with Photoshop and he asked me to send him a picture of driver side  rear. This is what he did with it.

The Photoshop pic in that last post makes it look like a natural! Mercury should have offered them like that, IMHO!

Yes, I have always thought that Mercury missed the boat on this. What's nice is that you can purchase a kit to turn your hardtop Mustang into a fastback.....and use it on a Cougar. ?

I added some half round strip to the grille:

This pic shows the hose connection for a Cougar:

This is the radiator I took off this Cougar when I got it:

Not too hard to move it:

I filled in the openings in the firewall where the molded in hood "hinges" would have been inserted:

More to come..........
