dragmodels44
hey Guys, just wanted to post a pic of my Red Alert, just out of the spray booth! I used the newly released Slixx decals and used the 70 SS 454 snap tite kit, as I’m just doing a curbside. I just wanted it in 1/25scale to go with my 1/18 version. I couldn’t find the full 1/25 kit anywhere and didn’t want to buy it off eBay. ( sick of it ) the hood decals were a little tricky around the cowl induction area and I had to cut them to get them to lay right, then touch it up a little. does anyone know what the actual car ran for wheels? 5 hole slotted? AC Norton
...It ran Motor Wheel Fly's, as I recall, but thru the years from day one, probably other makes too....the Ace...

espo
Great looking paint and decals. I remember reading many profiles on this car and it's owner. I remember a couple of different wheel combinations from the pictures in the articles so as Ace pointed out you could use several different wheel combs. 1972coronet
"Fly" on the front ; "Spyder" on the rear . One of the most beautiful wheels EVER .
dragmodels44
Thanks for the info and pics! I actually ordered both types from comp resins so I can decide when I mount them. This is going to be a quick one, as it’s a one piece body, but I needed to do a quick project, just to see something finished. I seem to do the body, set it aside then leave it until I’m in the mood. But, the painted bodies I never get tired of looking at!I will just add interior detail to it. I have to remember to make an automatic shifter.! El Caballo
Street Stock racers are great, non-bucks up racing.
carman1
This brings back memories, the original was one of the first kits I remember butchering up years ago.

TarheelRick
Excellent looking body, can't wait to see the rest of it. Another one from the Glory Days of drag-racing, before electronics took over.

dragmodels44
I wanted to send a couple of updates on the Red Alert. I’m trying to add some detail, as it’s only a curb side. I fabricated the roll bar and added the correct automatic shifter. The body is foiled and the bumper assemblies are complete. I added a column mounted tach and I’m going to add the racing harness. I’m still waiting for the rear motor fly wheels from comp resins, or I just might use Spyder wheels.

dragmodels44
UPDATE ALMOST FINISHED, I mocked it up with both rear wheels, I just can’t decide which one to use. I still need wheel backs, but that’s about the slicks are too wide, but the resin 70s pro stock/super stock are wider! Ron Hamilton
That one is very nice. I am doing a Red Alert too, but as it ran early in its career with the Spyders all the way around.
dragmodels44
Thanks. It was a quick build, but it filled a void in my collection

dragmodels44
Hey thanks, funny, I think those glue bombs we built as kids bring back the fondest memories. You didn’t care about details, being period correct, screw ups or after countless hours and then something goes wrong... you built it in one night and you admired it. mod3l Lover
That is real nice! The finish is soooo shiny too!! I had that kit when young also. It was a combo kit with a trailer. (If I remember correctly) You did this one serious justice, I love it!!! David S.
