Real, AFAIK!  That came from eBay, listed by a vendor in Japan.  I was scrolling thru the "Ending Soonest" listings, saw it and grabbed the pic.

Well, I now have a new name to call really bad kits, along with my standard "wretched backbirth."

Don't know which is worse; photo or the car....

The photo's not bad. What was bad was the judgement of whoever thought that thing would sell enough kits to make back its tooling and distribution costs.

Of course, nowadays, it's a valuable collectible....

Okay, so the photo itself isn't too bad, just the subject matter?

The Corvette America was real ugly. But it was also real.

The one in the pic below ended up on eBay:

The Corvette America is a fascinating oddity..I picked up a mint unbuilt one for less than $50 last year.

I picked one up at my LHS dirt cheap about 20 years ago.  I got it home and wondered what the heck I was thinking and what could I do with it.

Here's what I did.

If anyone starts a "what's the craziest thing you've done with a kit?" thread I've got my entry.

You could probably put that extension up for sale on evilBay and make a few bucks.?

We've been poking fun at this, but Porsche got away with on a real *production* car....

Anyway, I still think the box is UGLY.

Only slightly better than AMT, but not by much

Wasn't that the one they spent a bunch of money on 'improving' the tool? Just fixing the roof and cowl would have improved it hugely.
