Snake45
Motor Max '70 El Camino, 1/24-ish (more on that below), found at Walmart though I've also seen them at Hobby Lobby. Shape isn't horrible except for the roof. Here it is right out of the box. And here it is after a couple hours of standard Snake-Fu. Doesn't look half bad sitting on my shelf. Snake45
Here we compare to the AMT '68 for size and shape. Front end is a little wider than the AMT '68. But the back end is very, very close in width. Body is a little longer than the AMT '68, so I guess it's closer to 1/24 than 1/25, but not horribly obviously so. Here you can see that there's something a little off with the shape of the roof. The C-pillars are a little too wide/long, or something. Vinyl-topping it might help camouflage this, or make it worse, I dunno. But, overall, I though the thing was well worth the $20 and the four or five hours of time I have into it. At any rate, there's no EASIER way to get a '70 Elky on your shelf, if you've been wanting one.
Geno
I've been considering picking one of these up, cutting it up and grafting a 69/70 GTO nose on one and making my own version of a Ponchimino. Pontiac dash conversion and Rally II's. Hmmmmm, sounds like a fun project. I actually have a GMP '71 GTO front end already cut for such a conversion. 57peppershaker
Looks pretty good Snake. I live in an appartment so no longer have somewhere to spray paint models. Ive picked up and detailed several diecast over the last few months.

Snake45
Not really a fan of those wheels, but I'm liking that dark blue metallic paint. Have to keep my eye open for one of those!
Snake45
I saw a light metallic blue one today at Hobby Lobby, but I like Steve's dark blue one and my red one better.
57peppershaker
I think theres also a black issue but the dark blues cool. The wheels were a trial and Im now on version 2. I sometimes try several before making a final choice. These are from the Revell 57 Chevy.

At least the tires aren't quite so "rubber band" looking. Oh, forgot to mention: The light blue one I saw at HL yesterday had Rally wheels on it, not the Super Sport/Magnum 500s that mine has. What wheels came on yours? Edited January 21, 2018 by Snake45
57peppershaker
Mine had Magnums too. The are nice wheels but I wanted a more modern look. Some 18" Rallys would look good with dark blue.
