Here’s mine.

I just brought it out of the box the other day and it has just been sitting on my desk. I have been busy with school and building a lawnmower that needs to be done for the 1st of July for a Canada day car show.

I really haven't done much but I'm still in it. I'm retiring from work on August 1 so I'm assuming I'll have more time on my hands.

I did some work on the top to change the look a bit. Now to make it fit! I also settled on tires & wheels.

I think if we were doing pretty much any other theme, a curbside would likely be okay, although it's certainly not the norm for Cannonball racers. However as the theme specifically calls out a particular style engine, I do not believe a curbside is a good pick. Having said that, I am NOT going to disallow the model, as we have never had a rule against curbsides. I'm not inclined to make one now. If you want to build it as a curbside and call it an in-liner, so be it. But .................. on December 2, we race. It's hard to win a race without an engine.

Are curb side kits allowed? The kit I have coming in would normally be an inline engine

As Bruce noted above (Thanks bud) this question has been posed before. We will allow a curbside. However, the Cannonball IS a competition, albeit a friendly one. Most of us are putting significant effort in coming up with unique engine setups, in unique cars,  just like we do every year. Your curbside would really need to be extraordinary to compete with the work being put out thus far.

However, if you want to build your model just for fun and to join in the community spirit of this CBP, by all means do so. This is a great group of builders who will support you no matter what you build.

Most of my time recently has been behind the computer, The Soviet Silvia is getting a Camo livery! just working out colours, wanted to get some colour matched military paints but thats proving difficult to get into the country, might try MIG or AK Interactive.

However I have made a start on putting an engine bay into this Curbside kit from Aoshima, a Tamiya GTR donated its engine bay (& soon to be engine). Started cutting away the Silvias wheel arches & working out how to fit it....

My order from Fugu Garage arrived all the way from Russia with the S13 striped interior set & ducktail spoiler, so lots more work to be done. (which is mostly sitting in front of the fire at the moment)

Your one investor Alex is probably going to be pretty busy for a little while now that he won the cup. you should put a mini lord Stanley in the back seat.

I've done a minimal amount of work on my project. It got boxed up and set aside for a couple other builds Im trying to clean up. Also I re-arranged my building area in an effort to stream line my mess so once I have all that sorted I plan on getting back to my Skyline project. I'm hoping to get started after Le Mans weekend. By then I should have a couple things finished up and can get back to this build.

Loving the work everyone is doing. Keep it up. And I'll try to catch up.

Yeah hence the lack of progress.... (so stoked for him! Been a long time fan of his, but also a big fan of Vegas, couldn't believe they'd both be in the finals, shoulda put $20 on it at the beginning of the season!!!

I love that Idea of the Stanley cup in the back, Might have to try to make one, maybe it could be filled with petrol instead of Champagne....

Happy Birthday Rob !

Hope your having a great day:)

Thanks for starting this annual group build 11 years ago, it sure is alot of fun !!

Cheers CannonBallers

Thanks very much Bruce. I'm feeling pretty good for 50.:D My family threw a party for me out on our farm Sunday and we had a great time.

I wish I could take credit for this group but I can't. I just started a CBP that I thought would be fun, hoping for some like minded folks. What I got, like Mr. Yates said, was the most distinguished group of modeling scofflaws and degenerates ever gathered together in one place.  And we've had a great run. I think the idea of a cross country race (anywhere) and the terrific themes we come up with keeps things from getting stale. So as long as there is interest, the Cannonball will continue.

I've heard the "Wake up call" and I'm back to work on the service truck. I've got some surprise plans for the truck that wont be shown until the final reveal but as for now this is how it looks.

I've finished the weathering and most of the interior.

I had 4 choices for the wheels but have narrowed down which ones I'm gonna go with. I think air ride and "in the weeds" with big brakes is the look I'm leaning towards. Anyways, I'll be back...
