Double "A" Dale Rail

Hi all, Now that I have the funny car done I'm diving into the companion alcohol dragster. I'm using bits and pieces from a 1/25 Jeb Allen TF kit. As we all know we can only add as much detail as that can be seen in reference pics we all hunger for. The build will be pretty straight forward and I'm doing brass from the seat back and a working brass front axle. Thanks for looking.03_armstrong.jpg.954e54f61cb51dd7d95479f441ca017e.jpgff-dale1_zpscpniaapv.jpg.dc0a60cb91e391ac3cb80c132c0b33d4.jpg

So I started with the front axle, I wanted to lower the front to match the car stance a little better and then what the hell and made it position able. The front solid wheels are from an old McEwen build, don't know if I'm going to use them. I also got the rear brass work coming together pinning the plastic chassis to the hollow brass tube.20180105_161711.thumb.jpg.ddb07735f7b2aa9abac280c1d857d0f1.jpg20180103_162445.thumb.jpg.5e708d1925b1d24648aeef489f11df41.jpg20180105_161725.thumb.jpg.385a196b913afa2d6a330dbe90f33413.jpg

Hi guys, I have a couple of updates, I think I have the rear wing worked out. I used styrene for the uprights cause they have an oval shape to the pole more like modern struts. I used polished stainless steel .032 rod and found some real small aluminum tubing to make the rod ends. I think it looks good for budget concerns. I also have put in a brace for the parachute mount. I have also started the beginnings of the fuel cell which for some reason is located behind the driver seat. Thanks for looking20180111_162240.thumb.jpg.9c2568c417763a44203e47e2206486ca.jpg20180114_162900.thumb.jpg.a5a287806804644b6d4dcfdbdd95fddf.jpg

Hi All, Got a quick update on what I've been up to. I have the engine and trans roughed out using some stock parts and some resin bits to get to the cars configuration more true. I have the firewall done as well as the top of the roll cage and seat that is vacuum formed so I  can bend it and get it in the roll cage . As far as the cock pit controls I'm using best guess cause the reference pics I have don't really show that area real well. Now I'm off to final sanding and fitting to get stuff painted. thanks for looking.20180204_094906.thumb.jpg.cbc2f27370d779692f03433f0eb9b36d.jpg

Oh , I also have made my vacuform buck to make the body skins. All i did was glue all the body panels from the Jeb Allen kit together and filled the inner void with bondo. I then do a little bodyshop work making more useful for future builds that may have skins that go all the way back to the rear tires. I should get a good one piece body using .020 polystyrene plastic that i can cut back to the car tin shape. Also I can scribe in panel lines and re section the skins for an exposed cockpit or whatever. thanks for looking.20180204_095157.thumb.jpg.4df03339ba66fd349aad0fd17381b2d8.jpg
