The rims that you used to make the intake side of the turbine are perfect! As well as the chrome center cap. Looking good!

How flexible are you on your definition of a "rocket cat"?  I got one of these with the intent of turning it into a retro futuristic flying car.

If you're adding an existing car to it, I'd say it would be fine. Seems like a good platform to start with.

I added these cool intakes under the front fenders. I might put radiators behind them. More intakes! It needed more air for the two main turbines hanging out the rear. Plus, I like intakes.

Yeah, over the top cool. If you like intakes and want to toss an amusing nod to VW heritage you could throw on a window air conditioning intake.

I covered the rust colored primer with a few coats of dullcoat. I used blue tape to mask off the areas that I wanted to remain rust colored. Then applied white acrylic over the entire body. I waited about an hour, then painted the blue.

I used a 220 grit sandpaper to cut through the acrylic, then used a fine sandpaper to get the rough spots and scratches out.
