Ben
Am I able to delete posts I’ve made on here?
Rob Hall
Not anymore. We used to have that ability, but it seems to have been disabled in the last year or so, either with the latest forum upgrade or before... martinfan5
It would be nice to get that back, and the option to lock our own threads is gone. Edited January 23, 2018 by martinfan5

Yes it would be nice. However I'm not holding my breath.... The way I see it, being able to delete your own post would eliminate a lot of hard feelings and bickering around here. Sometimes you'll make a harsh or poorly worded reply that gets misinterpreted. On many occasions I've posted things out of anger then regretted doing so. Given the ability to delete that post before it did any harm would eliminate that bickering. Yea I know it shouldn't have been posted in the first place, but thats why we have erasers on pencils. Rob Hall
You can always edit your posts, though..I edit mine frequently for readability and content.
Dave Ambrose
Deleting your own posts is a double edged sword, and was getting abused, so we disabled it. If you want to delete a post or lock a thread, report it to the mods with your request in the report. We'll take it from there.
Pete J.
Dave, just curious how one abused the ability to delete your own posts or threads? Not sure how that would happen.

A couple of people, who made a lot of good contributions would delete their constructive and valuable content as a means of revenge for being reprimanded for bad behavior. Being able to delete a thread means you're also deleting other people's contributions, which isn't fair either. If you ever think your thread needs to go, just report it to the moderator with a comment.
