mad mike
Hello everyone, some of you might remember my 1/8 GT40 engine featured here some time ago. Now I've modified the data to create a 1/24 version made of 15 parts, using my own jewelry-grade 3d printer. Below you can see the result, the parts weren't sanded or anything, just cleaned, glued together and painted with a single layer of aluminium paint. If someone is really interested in having one I might build it on request, and if you'd like to have some of those Webers you can get them here: http://fein-design-modell.de/124-weber-vergaser/ http://www.scaleproduction.de/product_info.php?info=p2290_weber-vergaser--2stk--.html DCOEs are available too. Thanks for looking!
afx
WOW! Is it possible to buy a kit of the 1/24 scale engine?
Gramps46
Very impressive Michael. Please do make these available as kits.
Erik Smith
Wow. Really cool. The link for the carbs goes to a side draft carb - any place to get the down draft? I would be interested... Awesome!

John Goschke
Now we're getting somewhere! This the first time I've seen 3d printed stuff that really shows an acceptable surface surface finish in small scale. Beautifully done!
Jhedir6
Awesome. I'd buy at least one too if you offer it. Please PM me you decide to sell them. Thanks.

iBorg
Wow.......3d may finally have arrived. What kind of printer? Not only does the printer do a great job but your craftsmanship of making the files is noteworthy.
jeffs396
WOW, nice work! Any photos of the 15 parts prior to assembly?

Spex84
Well this is utterly spectacular! Undoubtedly the best-quality raw-finish 3D print I've ever seen in my life. Nice clear photos, too. Any printer that can do that must be insanely expensive, though, right??? Wow.

Phildaupho
Truly amazing. Is this the future of model building? Will we download a model program to our 3D printer to produce all the parts to build a scale model?

Downloads will probably be available (almost everything else is) for a price Back to the original topic, that is some absolutely stellar work! GerN
Beautiful. I'm surprised you could avoid visible layers so well with only 15 parts; you must have quite a lot of experience creating the driver files. Very good work.

Bainford
That is a seriously awesome result. And thanks for the link to the webers, that will be very useful.
bobthehobbyguy
Very nice. Did a search on 3d jewerly printers. My search showed one printer for about $7000. That isn't that crazy considering what it can do. Also prints quicker. The one I saw could print about twenty rings at a time.
mad mike
Hello everyone, thank you all for the kind words! It's always good to hear that other modelers appreciate what I'm doing. Currently I'm looking into a possible limited "production run" of some kits, seems there are indeed some people interested, let's see what I can do. Here's a pic of the parts after printing and cleaning, I'll try to take a pic of the parts without support structure next. Short part list: --Block -Gearbox -2x Exh Trumpet -Exh lh -Exh rh -2x Guibo coupling -Starter plate -Pulleys w/ belt -distributor -4x Weber IDA
