Hi Kyle Re the Green Machine

it was based on the old Ford flip front rod with Chev fenders. Built it back in 2016. If your interested the WIP is around page 29/30 and called "F100 Custom Stake bed".

Thanks for the interest it was a fun build

Brian

Excellent models, Roger - I especially like the 2 grey Fords on top - the second one kept thinking for a while until I realised that you have grafted the front of the Sedan onto the Pickup - looks perfect !

Thanx Helmut! The rear fenders are also from the car as well as the bottom section of the doors. Here's an early progress photo.

OK guys....this is what slammed (relatively speaking) pickup models looked like in the late 1970's/early 1980's....

MPC 1978 Chevy annual kit with accessories from the Pickups and Vans Revell Parts Packs issued around the same time....DSC 0689

After living in Nor-Cal for a couple of years, including weekly day trips to LA, I was influenced by several later model pickups with the roof removed....

DSC 0717

...and....

DSC 0703

Still have a 1963 Unibody, to be combined with the chassis from the Chip Foose F150, and possibly a Coyote V8 powertrain....in the future build files.

Many more pix posted here should you be interested....TIM

Hi Tim, I’m pretty sure I remember that brown one from an SAE issue back in the day, am I right? It was cool back then, and still looks pretty sweet!

Cheers, Steve

Steve....I can't recall for sure, but I think both the yellow and brown drop tops were featured in a magazine article.  May have been Truckin' magazine, or Scale Auto.  In any case, it appeared in print sometime around 1985-86 I believe....TIM

Well, I guess I’ll throw my bagged and tubbed shop truck into the mix.  I couldn’t stand the fact that the AMT kit didn’t include a Ford engine of any sort, so I decided to back half a 2013 Boss 302 frame and stuff a Coyote under the hood.

I really like this Chevy Steve! Especially the paint! I remember asking about it. But, don't recall the color. What was it again?

Hi Roger, colour is metallic red with flat clear. I believe it was dupli colour paint. It was a tough choice to put flat over a beautiful shiny metallic red, but my test spoon showed me it was going to look good. Very glad I trusted the spoon, the truck gets lots of comments on the paint.
