So Cal NNL Presented by GREX, Sunday May 6th!!

The So Cal NNL is back! After a year’s absence due to inclement weather and some scheduling difficulties last year, the Second Largest NNL on the West Coast is set to return in 2018.

After 12 years building this show into one of the highlights of the Southern California model car scene, Chris and Yolanda Hale have retired from the show, and have asked that Laski Scale Specialties carry it forward for 2018 and beyond. We’re going to do our best to maintain the great legacy of this event, and bring it back even stronger!

This is almost an “NNL” style event, in that there will be no competitive judging, but unlike the very traditional NNL, there will be some special awards voted on by people’s choice, and some others chosen by very special guests.

This show is held in conjunction with the Classic Chevy’s of Southern California Car show on the grounds of the Rancho San Antonio Boys Home, and will feature a full-size car show with hundreds of classic cars, live music, a great BBQ, and car enthusiast vendors.

The So Cal NNL will be in the gymnasium, and will also feature model car vendors, and a great raffle, along with hundreds of the best model builds in the area.

All proceeds of the event go to Charity!

So come on out and join us on Sunday, May 6th for all the fun.

Check this page for updates, or go to laskiscale.com for all the details and contact information.

Vendor and sponsorship opportunities are still available!

Scale Riders Tuners and Drifters Category at So Cal NNL!

One of the fastest growing and popular genres of modern car culture are tuner and drifter cars, largely Japanese imports. These are today's hot rods, where young people are customizing their import rides just like the old days.

It should only follow then, that the scale modeling hobby mimics this trend. In Southern California, Scale Riders are bringing this movement to the forefront of the model car culture, and we are pleased to announce they are sponsoring a Tuners and Drifters category at the So Cal NLL!

So bring out those import tuner and drifter cars for a shot at this special award!

Also, check out ScaleRiders.com to get up to speed on this growing aspect of the hobby!

Chris and Yolanda Hale, the founder's and former promoter's of the So Cal NNL have graciously donated a CASH prize of $100 to the Best of Show winner for 2018!

I hate to point out that this is soooo outside the spirit of what NNL is supposed to be!

Hi Tom!

I couldn't agree more and was waiting for someone to point that out. ;) The reality is that I wanted to ditch the NNL moniker altogether, but this show did not go off last year under unfortunate circumstances. So I decided to leave the name this year to rebuild on the known name. It's very likely to change next year, for marketing purposes, if nothing else.

So bummed we missed your "NNL"! Hopefully next year. We really can't wait to get back there.

Our show (ACME Southern Nationals) dropped the NNL moniker a few years back. It still slips out occasionally but it hasn't been used on our flyers for 2-3 years now.

Thank you for the support!!!

The 13th edition of the So Cal NNL is now over, and by all reports, was a successful and fun event! Our charity goals were met, as we were able to make a sizable donation to the Rancho San Antonio Boys Home. They were incredible hosts and we were proud to be able to contribute to them.

Our second goal was fun, and we had a lot of that! Fifty builders brought more than 400 of their incredible model car creations, along with 14 vendors selling a variety of great kits and accessories!

Thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters for getting behind us for this event!

Join us next month at the LA Roadster Show Model Car Event, June 15th and 16th, Click below for details.

Here are the Award Winners!
