Gramps46
The MAMA Boys and the Dayton Crew will remember this ensemble from the 2002 Toledo NNL. The one time I forgot my camera so thanks to Lyle for the photos. Gary

Gramps46
Thank you all for your comments, I appreciate them. The body started life as a vacuum formed 1/25th scale slot car body by Scuderia Scale. Then Bill Landis and Dave Spazaro (SPL?) made solid resin castings. I took one of their castings and re-profiled the fenders and a few other pieces. When AMT reissued the El Camino I knew I had to the set. NYLIBUD
Just wondering,(off the topic)has anyone ever met the famous Engine builder,Bill Mitchell?Very nice guy.Two of my friends used to work for him here on Long Island, where he is based out of.And by the looks of the building, you would never guess some of the best race motors are being built inside.Again, just curious. Bilingham
I'm currently scratch building the XP-87 in 1/24 scale. Take a look: The brown model and the cavity molds are CNC machined from Renshape. The white pieces are vac formed body panels. This project is about one year old.
