DRIPTROIT 71
Thanks for the comments guys! I haven't been able to put much time in this one lately. I almost have the engine ready to in stall. I made a couple of modifications to the snap engine. I think that I picked it up at Tractor Supply.

leafsprings
Details are fantastic. How's the clearance for the turbo?

How's the clearance for the turbo? Thanks!! I noticed in my reference pictures that the turbo was mounted lower on the engine when compared to the timing cover than the kit engine. One of the modifications I made to the snap engine was lowering the turbo and making a new intake pipe. With that done, clearance is good. HJK
Wow, Brian, the engine looks absolutely fantastic. The detail is impressive. Is this the engine from the box or do you use a different one? I definitely will follow this thread. Take care, Juergen

DRIPTROIT 71
I actually accomplished a little on this one over the past few days. I very pleased with these tanks from Auslowe, and the tires from Double Take are pretty awesome. Tanks are mounted and engine is mounted. I also upgraded the radiator for the 3406 and the 9000 has a larger one than the 8000 in all the pictures that I can find. Jim B
Looking really nice. Kind of a shame to hide that beautiful engine under the hood.

leafsprings
You nailed the look of a heavy duty linehaul fleet rig. What kit came with those heavy duty 6 spokes? They look exactly like the front wheels on this dump. A 9000 could have been ordered with the lighter 34K tandem, but, IMO, should get the beefier 38K , 40K or 44k rears. Notice size of rear hubs on this 9000 dump.

Ok thanks -- I was hoping it was a bottle brush paint, but rattle can works too. Is the CAT yellow dupli-color too ? And did you clear it with some kind of dullcote? PettyKW43
I must say this really reminds me of several long gone Fords from my area , especially Motorways who ran a lot of these back in the day! This build is looking fabulous Brian , if you can do tell me how to post pictures from Flickr, I am new to this technology stuff and I want to post pictures of my truck builds that I have going!
