2018 Cannonball-AMX

Recommended Posts

This is my entry for the 2018 Cannonball. Was going to be a Pacer but I destroyed the body , still using parts from the Pacer kit.20180323_185955.thumb.jpg.c99a7669cf4ecedd847fe8002f937def.jpg20180225_233519.thumb.jpg.db3fac1fee62ca8efdd16e935f7df5bb.jpg20180225_233555.thumb.jpg.11d713bf20e59e2f6081571da4ed73ec.jpg20180225_233606.thumb.jpg.399fa88ed390274039f217f2baa65fde.jpg20180225_233603.thumb.jpg.bf8626089a9cdd9f01ac1355366afb2a.jpg20180225_233632.thumb.jpg.2a0aa0df6736aac952bb2be3570d9c80.jpg

Very cool looking build. I have used NASCAR Chassis under some builds and it works out perfect. For very little money you get a great Chassis and Engine plus Suspension.

Very cool. How much did you have to shorten the frame?

interesting,  would not have thought of that. Lots of space for the fuel.

I'm sure I'll make it this year ,just wasn't in the mood to build last year. I made every year since I built the Duster. 20170901_210055.thumb.jpg.afb6a0c0fb0ac4f0ec68243cd008f8b7.jpg20170901_210021.thumb.jpg.42072168ebcc06715fc6ed8b154ae131.jpg 20170901_210235.thumb.jpg.d8583414f5a1409c0040bf1665534f15.jpg20170901_210733.thumb.jpg.c73079a0ef4f81c3431ce3147939389c.jpgIMG_20170112_105133.thumb.jpg.7fe1f7ece47ac3956a89c9855ae17aec.jpg

Really nice project. It is a Randall Pacer in steroids.

The chassis from the cup car looks like it was made for the Pacer. Another crazy build, you are a madman!

I just drug out my Pacer Pickup I started last year and yup, it's got the same suspension you are using.

My Pacer body got stepped on , but the chassis l built for it actually fits an AMX. I'm going to use all three kits to build my Cannonball car for this year!20180323_190108.thumb.jpg.878d03745da3dd4eac025e52d2fc185e.jpg20180323_192534.thumb.jpg.2a377288bf29956e44b9e6034f2d8a31.jpg20180323_192525.thumb.jpg.a84e1abe4d7a02845f95bd78862a3a77.jpg

It's too bad you lost the Pacer. The AMX is a cooler looking body, but not as much as an oddball.

Thanks , I'm still using the 6 and some other parts. I couldn't believe the chassis fit the AMX , only a small amount of trimming the wheel tub at the top.

Sliced off the molded in exhaust manifold. Found a header and 4Bbl intake in the part box, pretty sure they are for a slant six ,but they will work.20180325_213730.thumb.jpg.a26b4aa0a8a7bab53f00965a3de11fcb.jpg20180325_013819.thumb.jpg.d31e523f64bd18c5b26f0083c498ead9.jpg
