Lowering stance of 80's monogram nascar kits

Sir , you asked about my Kulwicki Ford . I trim the rear springs down a bit . At the front I remove the stub axle , trim the surface flat and glue on a thin piece of upright oval shaped plasticard painted the same colour as the front end . With the body on I then glue the inner hub of the rim onto this plasticard and as the glue sets I can place the wheels in the right spot , this also helps to get all four wheels on the deck . I know this is cheating but as in real Nascar it is only cheating if you get caught . Hope this helps .

Hi guys, I'm wanting to lower my Monogram Monte Carlo build, but recently with scale auto out of business the below link does not work anymore. Does anyone have a copy on their computer at all. That would be awesome if there was a way to still read this. I have read this forum and do get the general idea of how to do it (I have lowered several other cars before), but just wanted to read the actual story.

thanks very much

Mike

If some one knows the issue of SAE that article appeared in I may have it here and could scan it and repost.
