Lowering stance of 80's monogram nascar kits

I'm sure there was a "how to" posted at some point, but I cant find any information on the basics of lowering the suspension on old Monogram NASCAR kits. I have an idea how to go about it, just curious as what works best. Any help would be appreciated!

80's era Ford Thunderbird kits...I trim the springs and this lowers car.

80's era GM kits do not have springs rather solid posts. I find they need very little trimming to get good stance.

So if I understand you correctly, for the Fords there is no need to shorten the front spindle to drop front ride height? Its been so long since I've attempted one of these kits....

Sir , you asked about my Kulwicki Ford . I trim the rear springs down a bit . At the front I remove the stub axle , trim the surface flat and glue on a thin piece of upright oval shaped plasticard painted the same colour as the front end . With the body on I then glue the inner hub of the rim onto this plasticard and as the glue sets I can place the wheels in the right spot , this also helps to get all four wheels on the deck . I know this is cheating but as in real Nascar it is only cheating if you get caught . Hope this helps .

Forgot to add that.....I would just remove the 'bar' at the bottom between the two shocks and mount each shock to the lower control arm.

That article is exactly what I was looking for trying to figure out how to lower an 80s Monte Carlo.  Awesomeness!!!
