Daytona365
I used 2 model kits to build this one to near exact specs as the car used on the show commonly referred to as the Camera Daytona. I used the original MV kit & a 1978 Corvette kit to build this. I’ve flared the fenders, bought Borrani wire wheels (I didn’t like the ones w/ the MV kit), custom built the dash exactly how it should be The MV Daytona has the complete wrong interior as it’s a regular Ferrari interior & not the mix of Corvette/Daytona interior it should be. I grafted in the Vette center console, engine bay inner fender aprons, firewall, engine etc. Took almost 2 months of custom work & countless hours. Hope you all enjoy it as this is as close as it can get! I also cut of the headlights so it has the correct bucket headlights. I was in contact w/ the guy who owns the real MV Mcburnie Daytona and he sent me detailed photos of his car used in the show! Daytona365
For some reason it won’t let up upload the interior & engine bay shots. Maybe they are too big? The interior is where the real work went into effect!
57peppershaker
I can hear the theme tune already, just needs a pastel suit & raybans lol. Oh and Elvis ! Fantastic build.

NYLIBUD
U got it,It's strange, for years,I never really liked the Daytonas. And now, they are one of my favorite Ferraris.Like I said, they just look very classy.Kinda like an old Jaguar. Daytona365
I’ve always had a thing for them since the early 80s. Always reminded me of early Corvettes and coincidentally that’s what the Miami Vice Daytona was build from, a 76 & 81 corvettes!
Jim N
Very cool. As someone stated above, great craftsmanship!

slusher
Sweet model! I can hear the theme playing and see her speeding thru Miami!
spencer1984
Excellent work, if you can get the pics to load (or a link to them) I'd like to see more like the engine. Also, where did you get those wheels?
Daytona365
The wheels are Borrani wire wheels I ordered from Japan. Took almost 4 weeks to get here. Excuse the cut in the bell house. Need to make things fit lol. I’ve since put a small cap on the distributor. I grafted in Corvette inner fender aprons & firewall.
spencer1984
Nice, and thanks for the wheel info! I have been collecting various Borranis for future projects (this, Ferris Bueller, etc.) so I try to keep notes on them. That bell housing seems *very* appropriate given some of the cutting that gets done to make cars screen-ready!
Daytona365
There was so much cutting & custom work in this model. By far the most complicated build & detail job I’ve ever done.
