426 pack
the plan for this biuld is affordable (something a teenager like me could afford and put a little money into here and there) so the paint won’t be the best there rust, parts from all sorts of different trucks and dents. I have converted the front suspension to leaf springs and I am building a Dana 44 for the front axle and the rear end will have a Dana 60. My inspiration. Comments welcome. leafsprings
Sounds like a great upgrade, IMO, looks better than a 2WD already! Were lucky Moebius gave us this long awaited body style in a longbed version so we can make 3/4 ton 4x4's possible. disconovaman
These wheels would suit the style build you are going for. "The farm boy" is always a cool look for this style truck. I'll be checking it out along the way... http://www.b-n-lresins.com/shoppingopencart/resin-cast-1-24-1-25-scale-model-8-Lug-4X4-Wheels

The transfer case is mounted and I got the 3 drive shafts biult. The back axle is out of a revell 91ford dually, the t case is from a amt 79 Firestone ford and the fron diff is from a revell 79 gmc. leafsprings
Did anyone notice the same factory correct mirrors all 3 1:1 photos? Who wants to bet Moebius will give us these mirrors on their new 4x4 kit?

I will be used a set of west coast mirrors on this truck though. I found a set of tires that I’m going to use. They are Yokohama mid diggers that are about 37 scale inches tall. I mocked up the 390 with a homemade air cleaner, short headers from a revell mustang and 427 valve covers. The only problem is that the air cleaner is a little tall and hits the hood so I will make some shims so the hood will close more like this. I think the unaligned hood will help give it the old farm truck look.
426 pack
Today I painted and weathered the frame and painted the motor. I still need to weather the valve covers and air cleaner. I want the truck to look like it was just off-roading so I used some tamiya diorama texture paint.

I haven’t got much done lately except for building the exhaust and picking a colour. I will be doing something close to the Mohave tan.
