Ultimate Weekend Warrior 4X4 - Community Build

I've been working on the frame and getting the engine together. I've got the shocks on and added a steering stabilizer. I took the engine from a mid 2000s NASCAR kit and am building it to look like a small block crate motor. It's been a while since I plumbed an engine and it felt nice to flex those muscles again.

The interior of the GMC is very weak and the door panels are almost completely flat. I'm going to be building a few of these kits eventually so I figured I'd try my hand at dressing it up a bit. I cut the seat out and built an actual tub for the interior. Then I added the arm rests and wood trim along with the door handles and window cranks. I also added a floor shifter and removed column one. The dash is stock but I robbed the gauge decals from the Camo truck. I went with a brown two tone figuring it would hide dirt better than other colors.

I finished the top end of the motor with a Holley carb and an air cleaner from Kris Morgan at M.A.D. I added the fuel line with anodized aluminum wire and the connectors are drilled out hexagonal rod. I also made a carb spacer from Evergreen stock and used wire from the bolts.

The cab is about ready for paint, I reworked the grille area because I hate how the kit treats the front turn signals. I cut the turn signals off the grille and filled the resulting hole with sheet stock. I saved the signals and sanded them down and reshaped them a bit and will add them back after the paint is done. I also added drip rails to the cab.

My apolgies for not being more involved here. Lately my hobby room has become the brooding room for my wifes new batch of chicks. They should be moving out to the pen this weekend.

That's an interesting arrangement but I guess we all have to share space a bit. My hobby room currently also contains the cat litter box, which is why I do most of building in my recliner.

They're mostly on the other side and roof. By the time everything was dry they weren't as visible but it still looked pretty bad.

My apologies then, that's going to be something else.

All good, yeah should be a bit of fun, something a bit out of left field & different for a change!

Its not going to have an engine though, just a nice simple curbside. Will add a front diff & driveshafts for the He'll of it

Hi guys I have a question for everyone. I was thinking since everyone is building weakened warriors would anyone be interested in doing a purpose biult 4x4 community biuld like a puller, mud truck, baja truck or crawler?

Just thought I would throw this idea out to see how many people are interested.

I do have a few pulling trucks in mind but I haven't formed up a specific build yet. I'd be in for a group build since I should have this one finished up soon.

I know that we are a good bit into the year on this, but i will be joining this with a Revell 1980 Dodge Ramcharger converted to a 1974 Plymouth Trail Duster with 3D printed hood and grill.

I have to finish my Cannonball Run "Stool Bus" and TAT Pete first, or at least get close before I devote too much time on this. But I will be joining soon.

I've been back on this for a week or so. I've got the cab ready and the interior and grille installed. I made an 80's style square tube grille as a trial run for some other things I want to build, I also added a big tach to the dash.
