75 Firebird wanted kit or promo

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have been trying to find a kit/model or promo of a 75 Firebird I could make into the old 75 TA I once owned in 1 to 1... had to sell off due to bills after my accident.  I truly loved that car and never had any intentions of ever selling it.   if you have one or the needed unique parts to convert another into one please let me know and we will see what kind of deal we can make.   Thanks.  Mark

I made one of those using the Arii kit and a 1/24 Trans Am. It takes a little finessing to get the slightly too wide Arii nose to fit, but it can be done and it's definitely easier to find and cheaper than an original MPC kit! Plus the Monogram body looks so good, it makes it worth the trouble.

I thought about that Patrick....the one one close tot he 75s is the 74s.   I hope someone has one of the MPC ones they would consider parting with.  My old 75 TA had a .30 over 400ci Pontiac engine with ram air heads and exhaust manifolds...472 lift x 512 duration cam...functional shaker scoop...how could one not love that..?    maybe Ill get lucky...???

If you decide to go the Arii conversion route, HNTR has a recent post for trades and in his pictures are a few of those kits. Maybe you have something you can trade him for. Check it out.

I dont know if it's any help to you but c1resin do a conversion to build a pro touring one from the revell 78 1/24 kit. Its a pretty good conversion and might be your best way to get a 76

I appreciate the information Leslie....but the one I need to make is a 75 there different than a 76 year one...only one year is close enough to try to convert into a 75 is a 74...sadly.  id be happy with an old build up or promo for the project.

A local 3D friend is also looking for a '75 F-bird. I hopped on eBay just to see what they were going for. :blink::blink:

So then I looked for the Otaki/ARII '74s. I couldn't believe what people are asking for THOSE!  Apparently their sellers think they're made out of platinum. Wasn't all that long ago you almost couldn't give those things away, as everyone assumed they were junk or inferior. I got one cheap back in the day and am glad I did. (No, I don't want to sell or trade it. I want to build it in Buccaneer Red someday.)

Snake....Your lucky to have it.  I will have to use ether a 74 or 75 for my project...a 76 could work if I could find a few 75 parts...bumpers...roll pans..etc.   Having to sell off my 1 to 1 1975 TA I had liked to killed me..I truly loved that car with all my heart.  She had a .30 over 400ci Pontiac with a good cam..ram air heads and exhaust manifolds...talk about something that would run..!   Id be in heaven if they made a very large scale 75 kit.  I have a few very important family owned replica builds I need to do.

Chris.... Thanks for the tip buddy...sadly its going to end up beyond my grasp...I have to work on a very small budget or trade for one I could use.   It would be a great place to start with for my project build dream.
