Ich_Will
I’m in the process of fitting a bumper on a frustrating Revell AMG GT so while it’s clamped and drying I thought I’d start prepping the next project. I acquired these from my wife for my birthday last year and decided to build them in parallel since they are the different generations of the same car. They just came out of the soap bath and have been dried with the garage compressor. Let the fun begin.

Nataan92
I feel your pain with the AMG GT, I had issues with the bumpers too. Looking forward to these two builds too
Ich_Will
Laid down some silver aluminum color. The kit calles out Tamiya TS-17 but I thought I’d try some Duplicolor automotive paint. I used Ford’s Silver Frost. I honestly wish I’d tried Duplicolor long ago.
Adhsdad
That Ford Duplicolor laid down really nice. Did you shoot it straight from the can?

Yeah, right from the can. I’m excited to try other colors.
Ich_Will
Having wrapped up the AMG GT this evening, I’ll be making better progress on the DTM sisters. Here’s the start of the motor on the 1995 C Class.
Dann Tier
Keep up the great work!!!!.....I LOVE my Duplicolor paints...straight from the can!!!!! They're Filler Primer is the best!!!
Ich_Will
Progress is slow now that it is summer and outdoor activities take most of the free time. Got some suspension work done on the 90’s car and the motor done on the 2000. Also did the roll cage for the latter.
RancheroSteve
Nice work so far! I've built both of those cars, but with different liveries. Both went together without any problems - they're the kind of kits people talk about when they say "Tamiya quality". Have fun!
Ich_Will
A little slow progress on a rainy weekend. I shot some Duplicolor metallic black for carbon fiber parts but had to do it over due to humidity. Thanks to Dann Tier for some help/tips via messaging. Both chassis are at about the same point. I’ve got to admit I bit off too much trying to build both together, but still neat to see two generations coming together at the same time. Ich_Will
More progress. The D2 decals are odd...full sheets for car panels. God bless micro sol.

I'll keep this subject going...I have about 7 more 80's-2000's race car kits in the closet. At least 4 are DTM cars. 8 hours ago, jchrisf said: Looks really nice! Thanks! They are full panels but the a/c pillars are 1, doors are 2, fenders are two each. And those are just the D2 decals. The sponsor decals are all separate. They didn’t turn out as good as I would have liked, but I can redeem myself with the CLK
