Scratchbuilt 1:1 1965 Diamond T P4320 Wrecker

Recommended Posts

I was at the ATHS National show in Lexington KY a few weeks ago.  That is where I came across this "shop built" Diamond T.  Spoke with the owner who claimed it was built by the original towing company that used it.  Quite the job of engineering and construction.

Some may see junk.  I see a resourceful genius at work.  Much of it looks as if it came from the rides toted around on old traveling carnivals.

Pure mechanical mayhem.

Only those with "issues" dared operate it, knew its many quirks, and could somehow keep it running.

Making sausage in other words.

I long for those days knowing it was a good way for some of us mechanical and electrical burnouts to actually EARN a living.

Thanks for sharing.
