Your favourite Box art

Recommended Posts

The above maybe my all time favorite box art ever done. Sucked me into buying my first one back in the day.

Revell '57 Nomad, picture didn't come through.

One of the best Box Art, but terribly , fiddly kit to build.

Wire wheels on original were airbrushed out to match chrome rims in kit.

There's been lots of great box art, but I still have a soft spot for this one because it was the first of the Monogram classics I ever purchased and it was this version.

Yes a great kit, especially in original shiny Monogram plastic.

The car and the scenes used for these 'Classic ' kits were fantastic. I love this too, reminds me of a town on the Rhine I visited called Bacharach am Rhine(Yes as in Burt)

My favourite box arts are

Mpc double flip ford (it was the first model I ever got due to the way the box looked)

revell HOT ROD 69 mustang supere CJ ( one of my dad's old models and was another reason I fell in love with the hobby)

revell/monogram 50 ford custom picup (it was one of my dad's old kit and I love the way the box looks)

Revell of Germany Australia kenworth t900

amt Indy drag combo

amt ratpacker nova

there are more I like but I can't remember as Thea's are just ones I can remember of the top of my head.

In the late 70's/early 80's Hasegawa let their graphics people off the rein WRT aircraft box design.

These are two of my favourites.

Most of those '70s Hasegawa 1/72 airplane boxes were quite nice. But the black-bordered US ones looked more "finished" or refined or something to me than the white-bordered Japanese ones.

Since we have now branched to non-automotive subjects, pretty much all the box-art from the now-defunct VEB Plasticart (kit manufacturer from East Germany in the '70s) had some beautiful artwork. Those were some of the first kits I built as a kid and the artwork still looks beautiful.  Here is a bunch of examples.
