landman Posted August 2, 2018 Share Posted August 2, 2018 I am considering this as my next project. Are there any sequencing issues I should know about. I suppose the actual build is as per the instructions but what about painting? This is a complex unit. tbill Posted August 3, 2018 Share Posted August 3, 2018 I'm pretty sure I built the base/floor section and painted that as one piece, the rest of the build is cross bars and floor ramps. the sides are pretty much one piece if memory serves. two sections of the top ramp sections pivot so you can get cars in it on the lower level. if it weren't for the whole photo bucket debacle, i had a rather detailed build thread when i did the car hauler/titan90 and 69 camaro's, that had tons of pic's as i went along. modelercarl Posted August 4, 2018 Share Posted August 4, 2018 I have built 3 of these and have another as a WIP. I have found that priming and painting all of the pieces first is easiest for me. I touchup any spot that needs it after assembly. My first build I tried building up sub-assemblies then painting, but due to the "birdcage" concept of the trailer it was very difficult to get good coverage. niteowl7710 Posted August 4, 2018 Share Posted August 4, 2018 The only real "problem" I've noticed with this kit is since it's a "cage" there's about eleventybillion man hours of fixing ejector pins marks - assuming you care. Because every..single..piece - short of the bottom of the main piece which you wouldn't see again in theory so I wouldn't worry about it - has one side completely covered in 1980s era tech ejector marks.
