DrKerry
Well this is with the hood sides built in, hood fitted, bunk house built and notched for tire clearance. Battery boxes are mounted and fuel tank sitting in its area to get an idea of where it’ll be thought about putting a chain box/head ache rack in but it’ll have to sit above the tag axle.??? gotnitro?
Haha I gotta say Kerry that bench looks like my dads work shop during his wood working projects! But ask him where a single thing is he'd reach down and grab it without even looking Me..I'm the other way , a Wip shelf keeps the projects together. Know where everything is for the most part on the bench. I too have a wip shelf in the corner of my area.. The shelf in the corner on the right is all my wip’s, well most of them. I have a few above my bench too! You can see the bottom of the glass shelf near where the feather is hanging from..

All my unbuilt stuff is in the garage... I take stuff to work on during breaks too which helps... My area is so narrow that I added shelves on top of my bench and went up with everything. Usually the bench is to allow two people to sit at it but had to use the top surface for my stereo and shelves on the other side.. 4 hours ago, Tesla said: Wow!! LOL Been a lot of kool things come off of that old bench, had that bench for 12 years now. Made from an old hollow core door with peel and stick checkerboard tiles on it.. Works like a charm!! I would ask your buddy with the 1:1 trucks if such a rig would have a spare tire. It's not like the driver could change it. Would a truck like that just call a mobile tire repair service? I love the beam. That is one huge mother!

Vince66
Tom as a CDL A holder yes companies do carry spares with the trailers and or behind the cabs look at some swift trucks. The reason is a service truck has to be called out that the company doesn't have to pay the extra service charges associated with buying, bringing out, and mounting tires or rims. All the service truck has to do is install the rim/tire combo & or mount a tire saving some serious cash & time. Rims can be specialized to a truck or trailer with certain sized rims tires, ect ect. True there Vince, I know what Tom means by a heavy unit like that won’t be able to be driver changed and would need a fleet service to help with it. I also know what you mean by a certain truck, Jeep or steer car may have its own unique bolt pattern on it etc... I think I’ll go with keeping the spare on it and see where it goes.. lol
Vince66
Did a seasonal fill doing heavy haul largest load i hauled 288,000 lbs multi axle millipede dollies hauling a coal mining ring gear for a Wyoming strip mine that was moving their big bucket from one mine to another twin trucks pulling, twin trucks at the rear braking and pushing. 2.5 lanes wide slower than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest even had WyoHP escorts but a memory i'll never forget. 17 short axles with 4 tires/rims per axle on each dolly platform. And yes before each move we had to check the air pressure with a hand gauge to make sure each and every tire had air. Vince66
Kerry if you really want to piss off traffic take both travel lanes 1/2 the left shoulder and leave the right shoulder for passing when they can and when there's no guardrail or bridge wall on 2 lane westbound I-80 between Cheyenne Wyoming and Green River Wyoming with a Max speed of 35 mph in a 70/75 mph zone. God I love being in a big truck.
