Detroit Model Car Show November 11, 2018

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to Motor City NNL. A great growing show with a lot of great vendors and great builds on the tables.

We're expecting the show to be a complete vendor sell out so expect about 280 tables plus the Motor City NNL and the slot car drags and some real cars on display, too. We're now  a LOT bigger than Sylvania and the show is a lot like the bigger room was at Toledo years ago. You owe it to yourself to attend because once you see it you'll want to keep coming back.

Tony is right in that the overall floor space is much, much bigger than the NNL Nats in Ohio.  The kit manufacturer presence has also mostly migrated to this show as well.

However, the built model car display remains much smaller than the NNL Nats - although it too has shown impressive growth over the last several years.

As the NNL Nats 40 year run ends with the final show October, 2019, there is considerable speculation that the built model display at the Motor City NNL will gain many additional participants in the next several years...

That's  what  we're hoping will happen, Tim. Our club has some decisions to make and some questions need to be answered to be able to effectively take up the legacy of the NNL Nationals.

Strongly considering attending and entering this show. I've never been to an NNL show and this is the closest until BuffCon next April. Looks like a great way to meet memebers from here and share our builds in person.

While I don't have anything new to throw on the table this year. But I will make plans to attend next year. Once I have something done. I just need to get my happy ass to the hobby desk and start working.

Our show is looking like it's going to be bigger than ever- now over 300 tables! And don't ever be concerned about not having any fresh builds. Just bring your favorites or bring your projects for the primer table.

Hopefully someone takes their camera along.

While I've never attended the Detroit show, I know several people who have and I hear great things about it. Maybe some year for me, we'll see?

Table count is 324. Come see a good sized show now that Toledo/Sylvania is a shadow of it's former self.

Eight days and counting to the biggest toy show in the Midwest! 324 tables, the Motor City NNL, slot car drags, and some real cars. Still $5 admission and no extra charge to enter models in the NNL. Don't miss it!
