NASCAR Intrepid Question

In the real world the show cars built in 2000 had 358" LA engines based off standard engines. The race cars had a completely new design called the R5/P7 which came out in the first season in 2001. If the kit was based off of the show car they might have used a Chevy engine to save costs etc

Thanks... Well, that makes me not need an Intrepid donor for a project. You saved me some coin.

Were not the engine block a generic thingy?? I thought I didn't like the kits because too much generic stuff. Thx

I just looked at a Taurus block and it is definitely not generic. Looks like a Ford. Oil filter location, timing cover/water pump, starter location all look Ford.
