br67
Does it have any connection to this kit? I got in a job lot of kits I bought some time back
afx
Never seen that kit before Brandon so I can't say. Both kits represent the same car however. Nice score by the way.
Gramps46
Is the body different from the Otaki 2600? Oops, the Otaki is an RS3600, its early yet. Edited October 20, 2018 by Gramps46
afx
The Otaki/Sunny/Academy/Minicraft kit I'm familiar with is a RS3100 Gr. 4 Edited October 20, 2018 by afx
afx
AMT MkII Capri from the stash for comparison. Edited October 20, 2018 by afx
br67
I think my resin may be based on the Academy kit? Looks to be some similarity in the side windows
dublin boy
Yes, but the amt kit is a Mk2 Capri with a hatchback, so it's a different bodyshell. It's also debatable if the Academy kit is actually an RS 2600 with a duck tail spoiler.
dublin boy
Never knew they rallied Capris JC! https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/reportage/walter-roehrl-und-sein-ford-capri-rs-sprungbrett-fueer-eine-weltkarriere/
afx
I wasn't aware of their rally history either Shay. I know Capris competed in touring cars. Video from the Olympia Rallye Edited October 20, 2018 by afx

socal76
J.C., I sure like that Otaki Capri RS3100 you showed the pic of. The front fenders look a bit different than the Minicraft version. Maybe just the image, but it does look slightly different.
vamach1
Pretty hard to find an original one these days. Well - except for yesterday.
dublin boy
The Capri obviously has a modified V6 JC, but I've never seen an RS 2600 ( Cologne German V6) or an RS 3100 { Essex English V6) without twin headlights,it must be a very early pre production version. Atmobil
Cool news, a mk1 Capri is very much a wanted kit. I did build a 1:24 Capri some years ago, made by Academy I think. I never took pictures of it when after it ws done but these where from the building process: And some when it was nearly done: I had an accident with it after I cleared it and was never happy with the results after that. It was sitting to close to a warm lightbulb on my desk and the roof started to melt. You can see windows don't fit properly anymore. A very simple kit and according to experts the body is to big for 1:24, more like 1:22 or something like that.
ChrisR
I heard a rumor that the Decalcas one is based on the Welly diecast.

afx
I would be very surprised if a company's first resin kit offering would be based on an existing die-cast model. Edited October 22, 2018 by afx

dublin boy
We'll just have to assume it's a new tool, because it'll be obvious when the pics come out.
