I'm in.  73 porsche RS.  It is a small car so there will be a load of external stuff on the roof rack.

I call dibs on number 42!  The answer to life, the universe and everything!  Got my towel, ready to go!

Ok, decided to change cars.  I found this car in my stash so it is going to be my choice. Tamiya 1/24 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA model kit It is going to be fun to make the mods to get this across China.  Still lots I can do with this one.  Roof rack is going to be high on the list as well an bumper overrides as required.  Going to keep #42

Well I have been getting a little done. I got the roll bar made, seat mounts done and the center console made. This will house the SAT phone, shifter and switches. I also made some stuff for the trunk/roof rack. I have 2 sleeping bags, a brown tarp, chain, rope, and a tool box. Some of this will get mounted to the roof rack, but some will stay in the trunk. I also got the trunk hinged.

Ok, this is a one time offer to 4 people.  I was about to run my number decals and realized that I had enough space on the decal sheet for four more sets.  I see no reason to waste good decal paper so the first 4 people, and I repeat the first 4 people to PM me with their number and address will get a set of decals.  Please make it a PM not a reply to this web page.

I intend this to help those out who may not have the ability to print their own, so if you can do it, please let someone else get in the line.

I make no guarantee as to the quality but they will be inkjet printed on white decal paper and coated with clear automotive lacquer.  Your going to have to cut them out as I don't have the ability to print them like the big boys do.   I apologize to those who don't get this but I have limited resources and time so I can't do everyone. The postage alone would be a burden.

Ok, no takers?  I will let this offer stand through the weekend.  This is a no charge offer, because it cost me the same to do 5 as it does to do one.  I'm even paying the postage.  First 4 only.

Ok, two left.  As I said before, I'm doing this for people who can't do their own. I am not asking questions, just trusting you all.  If you can do your own, please save these for people who can't for some reason.

Thanks,

Pete

I have ran into a bit of a problem. Since I am running my two front spares of the roof rack I decided to put the rear spares in the back of the car but after building the first tire mount I have realized that I would not be able to get the tire out with the glass in.

So I was wondering if it would be against the rules to make the rear glass open on a hinge so it would act as a hatch back.

There isn't a rule against it so go ahead.

Run all 4 tires the same. You only need to carry 2 spares if I remember the rules right.

Hey Pete, if this is still open I'm #39. Thanks much!

If I'm in I'll PM my address.

Ok, that's it.  I will get these in the mail before Thanksgiving.  For those not familiar with our ancient puritanical rituals, that is November 22nd this year. ;)

Great Choice!!! I started looking for one of those at first but came up with nothing, was gonna use Scale Productions widebody kit for it too.

I havent made much progress yet, just trimming out a few parts here & there. I did take some homework on my holiday though! (sorry for landscape image)

But I have decided it'll look something like this, no real sponsor decals though.

A skyline would be a good choice for this race.  Tough as nails and great handling!  I didn't consider this one but it would be fun to do.  The Alfa was purchased a long time ago to do for a friend.  He owned one that he raced on the weekends at Willow Springs.  It was purple.  I may do that color just to honor that commitment that I never did.

And, we're off and running! For the interior, I used the floorboards from the sedan delivery kit. That'll eliminate the rear seat and make it easier to add the roll bar and stowage area for gear and spare parts. I found a nice all terrain tire in the Lindberg Dodge Dakota kit, I'll use those with Chevy pickup wheels and the stock '47 hubcaps.

Lee nice start.

I like those tires, do you have the measurements for them? Outside dia/ Inside dia please, if you can. Thanks.

Okay Rob, you talked me into this one. Looks like I'll be running a '47 Chevy coupe. How about #7?

Excellent. Gents, Lee here is one of my pals from my local scale auto club. He's a good egg.

Lucky #7 it is!

Cale, please check out the rules on roof racks.

Roof racks are permitted provided they meet the following specification:
- They must be of a design available at the time the car was in production

I knew this would eventually pop up. A modern off-road style roof rack is not legal per P2P rules. If you do some Googling, you'll see that basket style roof racks are the accepted norm, assuming such was in use when the cart was new.

Sorry about that. I will build a different one that is more period correct.

After doing some some more research on the vehicles that are in this event I found these pictures of a C10 Chevy that has a Peking to Paris rally plate on it. But from the rules that I have read I thought picup trucks were not allowed. Dose anyone have an explanation of why it was allowed to race?

I do not know whay it was allowed to race, as I've been unable to find the actual rules for 2013. Most likely it was an oversight by whomever wrote the rules for 2013. In 2016, they definitely made sure it was made ineligible.

I am not saying that the C10 could not have run, but I suspect it was there as a support vehicle, not an entrant. The rules are very clear on no trucks. It also does not look like it was Rally Prepped. So, either it did support, or its just a truck that someone thought it would be fun to stick the P2P plate on.

Or, it may have run, but was not "Official", just a fun fun kind of thing. IE, it ran, but was not eligible for the "Win".

Most of the support vehicles for ERA are red Nissan pick ups. In one video I saw a Ford F150 ( like 2012+ model) pulling a car out of a mud pit but not sure it was an ERA truck or one of the teams with its own support vehicle.

Well it's on this roster. At the bottom, marked "retired". Which I do believe means it did not finish.

http://www2.endurorally.com/pp2013/results.php

It did not finish because it was involved in a head-on crash in Siberia that killed British driver Emma Wilkinson and injured her partner three weeks into the race. The driver of the other car and a baby were also killed. Later articles implied alcohol may have been involved with the other driver.

It was not a support vehicle but according to one article may have been allowed because they were less particular for that year's race.
